Caroline watched him and shook her head. “Don’t make up excuses” She teased and laughed as he tried to defend himself. “So first it was the alcohol, then the time and now me. Someone isn’t ready to admit that they just sucked that up pretty bad” She chuckled and finished what was in her glass. “I should probably get home before I have questions to answer on why I’m trying to stay in the Grill after hours” She said motioning towards how people had disappeared and Matt was cleaning up. She knew that it was about closing time.
She moved to put her stick up and looked at him. “Walk me out?” She asked before turning and walking away from the pool table. she drove herself there so it wasn’t like she needed a ride home. She just could be walked to her car and then she’d go home and mentally prepare for this date. She still couldn’t believe she’d agree to go on a date with him honestly. Elena would think she was nuts. Bonnie would think she was compelled. The Salvatores would think she was an idiot. Matt would be concerned of course. But Tyler wouldn’t know unless he came home because she wasn’t telling him anything, he didn’t answer a phone anyways.
She felt bad about spending time with Klaus because of the Tyler situation. She didn’t know what was going on in any of their heads. SHe knew that Tyler said he loved her, but sire bond or not..he should have been there with her after her father died. He should have called and apologized about it after it happened instead of her finding out when he was in the hospital already. He was being secretive and she didn’t like it. At least Klaus was being upfront with her, she knew what he was doing
"I…" Klaus was about to insist that it had been some exterior force making him fail that ball, but he quickly gave up, it was useless when she was already mocking him anyway. Well, maybe that would make her see that things didn’t always go as he wanted. She then mentioned she should leave because it was already pretty late and he agreed nodding along. "I believe your human friend will have a lot of questions for you tomorrow." He pointed out as he went to put the stick back into its place as well.
"Of course." He walked out with her, making a sign to the bartender that he would be back to pay the bill. As soon as she unlocked her car, Klaus held the door open for her and waited until she was inside. "See you in two days." He gave her a little smile and closed the door then, stepping away from the car and watching as she pulled away from her parking lot and drove down the road.
He went back inside and grabbed the bottle he had left close to the pool table before walking to the bar and handing a 100$ bill to the bartender. “You can keep the change, beautiful.” Klaus told her with his best charming smile and he was actually tempted to take her home and feed on her. But then Matt would probably tell Caroline and it could cause him trouble with the blonde that he didn’t want. Instead, he walked out again, this time aiming for his car and postponed the hunt and feeding for the next day, since it was already pretty late and that night had already gone perfectly good.

“I think you’re bias but I’ll take that compliment” Caroline said lightly and gave a smile. She may try to brush it off, but him complimenting her would be like even Katherine doing it in a snarky way. When an older vampire genuinely complimented you then you felt like you were doing something right. And if you respected them it was even better. and when you were interested in them then it seemed to mean even more to your self esteem for them to say such good things to you.
He continued to laugh at some things that she said and she could almost see it as he did. He had fits and she had fits. She probably wasn’t as big on destruction as he was. Judging by the way he attacked people when angry. She tried to remember the last time she got so upset. It was probably at Damon, which she usually got angry with him. She was good at mouthing off when angry.
“Well that works because I happen to like someone work for me” She responded and then looked at him when he complimented her. If this had been her human self she would have probably blushed a bit and grinned wanting to just jump him. She tore her eyes from him and then looked at what they were doing. “right.” She went along with what he was saying. She nodded and then moved to hit the ball. “Well..I think I didn’t hit hard enough. I’m afraid I’ll overdo it and shoot the ball across the room knocking someone out. That is the type of luck that I have. All pedestrians should avoid my reach while playing this game”
Klaus was trying to help Caroline learn to play pool a little bit better and he was now realizing she really never hoped on winning the game when he had first laid the bet. She was clearly hopeless at playing that, not even her heightened senses as a vampire seemed to help her. He pulled a little away as he told her to hit the ball and ended up watching as the ball slowly struggle to make its way to the hole. The direction seemed to be good, but she clearly had some problems with the strength she should use. “I really do not recommend you to try and use vampire strength at this game. You’d either stick the ball inside a wall or inside someone’s head and I do believe the person wouldn’t survive such disgrace.” Klaus laughed and then shook his head. “But you do have to use a little more strength than that.”
He pulled her stick towards him and chalked the top of it, then he simply grabbed it from her hands and smirked smugly. “Watch and learn.” He bent over the table and aimed to another ball. He blinked a few times as the alcohol was making his head rather dizzy and his eyes a little heavy. He confidently hit the ball and then watched it go and fail the hole. For a while he just stared at it, almost not believing that it had actually happened, then he raised his eyes at Caroline and he just had to laugh, because he could imagine how much satisfaction his failure was giving the girl.
"I blame it on the alcohol! I’m not in the best conditions to play, I didn’t focus enough." He tried to defend himself, even though he couldn’t stop smiling because of what had just happened. "And it’s late, that’s also the problem." He added, averting his eyes to the ground for a second as he breathed deeply to stop from laughing. "You." He raised his eyes back to her. "You are definitely the biggest problem to my concentration." Klaus joked, then he moved to pour himself another drink.

Caroline nodded and then smiled. “You would have probably applauded the effort. I just don’t take kindly to someone being mean to me when I have the abiity to fight back. I’m not little girl Caroline anymore I can do more than they think I can. I’m just a surprise I guess” She shrugged. She knew that they worried about her like she couldn’t fight her own battles, but she remembered fighting off all of those tomb vampires to protect Tyler’s mom. She could handle herself if she needed to. she just had to tap into her adrenaline to do so.
“Of course. If its something I’m passionate about then chances are I will get heated over it and probably attempt to stomp away to avoid talking to you for fighting with me about it” She said honestly and shrugged. She knew that she wouldn’t give up and she doubted he gave up on anything so it would go on forever and like he said, when he got upset things got broken so she could imagine the state of the grill if they both snapped.
“That sounds like it has alot of innuendo in that statement” She said bluntly and raised her brow. “I keep you on your toes. Its best that you have to work a bit. Its not fun if its easy” She commented and then eyed his smile like he had gotten something that he wanted again. She waited for him to get ready and watched him put her glass down before she moved over to the table. She bent over and he bent down by her. She got into position and let her eyes look at him as he whispered to her. “Unless you’re checking out my face” She whispered back and lifted her brows for a second before letting them go back to normal.
Klaus nodded along with her words. “I think you’re pretty spectacular.” He told her with a smile. He loved how the girl could stand for herself, she was that type of person that whenever there was reasons to get really scared, she held on to that fear and turned into strength to fight back with everything she had. It was something somehow rare. She acted on instinct, leaning on all her primal being, letting the vampire monster control her body and yet she would only let it happen for protection and not for the urges. Well, at least he didn’t think so, he couldn’t really be sure if she had killed people to feed or not.
He laughed after what she said. What the bloody hell was he even getting himself into? Them being together was the perfect receipt for disaster, he could see it even more clearly as he got to know her better and better, they would just be explosive. Destroy everything around them probably on a daily basis because they would disagree and fight on so much stuff. And still, he couldn’t avoid liking the idea. “It’s going to be my pleasure to make you talk to me again any time you stop wanting too.” Klaus replied simply, as if them being together was an inevitability. And probably it was, because he could see Caroline slowly giving in to him.
Klaus shrugged at her accusation about the innuendo on his sentence, he hadn’t actually meant most of it, but he didn’t mind whatever crossed her mind about the things he could do in a suit. Put like that it sounded quite stupid, actually. “It’s definitely not. I like having to fight hard for what I really want.” He smiled and then quickly prepared the table for them to play again, they both bent over the table as he explained some tricks for her to play, then he joked as she wouldn’t have to worry about him checking her out. “Well… you have a gorgeous face.” He complimented her without tearing his eyes away from hers for a long time. Then he snapped from it and concentrated back on what he was doing. “Well, you have the balls lined to the hole, right? Now you just have to hit it. Use too much strength and the ball is likely to come back to you instead of falling in the pocket. Hit it too softly and the ball might not get there. I can’t really explain you how much force you should apply, you just have to try it for yourself.” He instructed.

“Your sister is a strong person, even if she is mean to me” Caroline shrugged. She still believed that if Rebekah hadn’t showed up and tried to ruin her life she may have gotten along with her. But things didn’t work out as planned. “You just enjoy the idea of me embarrassing others it seems like” She raised her brow. “I’ve embarrassed a few men as a vampire. I guess you should be proud of me for it” She gave a little smile and messed with her hair.
“That’s good you won’t trust to argue with me over this because I don’t see myself backing down from that argument” She said in a matter of fact tone. She would defend her friends no matter what. That was just how she was. She was loyal to a fault sometimes and it could get her in trouble but she would do it anyways.
“Finally we get a regular night” She joked. “We know you know how to waltz and whatever else in a suit, but seeing you in a regular setting other than drinking at the Grill with me could be interesting enough” She teased and then took a gulp from her glass. “mm? Sure. But how are we going to do that when last time I couldn’t get even one ball in? I can’t really compete with the know it all Original Hybrid in the place” She teased and shrugged. “Unless you want to try to teach me or something” She said lightly and looked innocent.
"She is." Klaus agreed, nodding. Even though he was referring to the strong part, he could as well be talking about both of them, because Bekah was also pretty mean to Caroline. Well, it was their mean girl act, both had it so they were kind of meant to shock. "I am indeed proud of you, I guess I’m just sorry I wasn’t around to watch it, because then I would have been able to enjoy the show." He commented playfully. One of the shows he definitely was sorry to miss was the one of her beating up Damon, he would have been thrilled to see that one going down.
"And what a big fight that would cause, am I right?" He added. Klaus was pretty sure that if they were to fight about something both wouldn’t back down, then it would get pretty intense, maybe by the end of the night that bar wouldn’t be whole. Fortunately, for now, the bar and especially the people at the bar were safe from the fight of two very stubborn vampires. Maybe sometime in the future, if they did get together, they would have to fight around stuff like this, but right now it was the last problem in his mind.
"You are wrong if you think you’ve seen half of the things I can do in a suit, love." Klaus smirked, making it all sound a little more intimate than it was originally meant to. "But well, as you play so difficult, I have to be versatile and try everything I know about seducing a pretty lady." He grinned and then suggested they continued playing. Klaus chuckled as she pointed out the fact that she couldn’t even get one ball in and then when he was about to offer his help, she asked for it herself. Klaus couldn’t, once again, help the smug smile on his lips. "Sure. I can be your teacher." He teased and then moved to get the table ready to start once again. He hit the first shot to display the balls in the table and then moved back towards her. He took the glass from her hand and went to put it back in the table with the bottle. "I have to make sure you learn how to play so you can beat all the other guys that think about betting a date with you over pool." He joked as she got nearer the table. He bent over next to her, getting extremely close to her as he thought her the right position to hold the stick and line the balls with the hole. "At least now you don’t have to worry about me checking you out while you’re playing." Klaus whispered at her, since her face was only some inches away from his.

“Well that is true. One was a human, one started out as a werewolf. They aren’t Originals” Caroline said and then nodded. “Men ruled the women back then, I know that. Its a good thing that changed though because I wouldn’t have fit in at all. I’m roo into running myself that I would upset anyone that tried to run me” She shrugged. She would have never been able to take being bossed around. When Damon tried to tell her to go join in washing dishes she told him she didn’t do that. She wasn’t a manual labor type of girl. That wasn’t her just being spoiled, at least she admitted that wasn’t the type of thing she did.
“So you just don’t like that my friends want you dead and I’m loyal to them. THey have good reason to want you dead.” She pointed out and raised her brows because she knew that he knew that. Really she wasn’t going to push too much on the topic because it was an obvious situation. “Uh huh sure” She chuckled softly.
She watched him smile and then he smirked moving to end the game. She felt he was alot like the types of guys she usually liked. Cocky and confident that they could get their way. When she didn’t make it easy, it was fun to watch them be disappointed though. She put her hair behind her ear and nodded before licking her lips taking the glass from him. “What am I wearing? I should know a dress code” She pointed out taking a drink from the glass. He had to know she was a girl that dressed for the occasion. she liked to be looking her best at all times so if she had a date she needed to look the part. How she would explain this to anyone who was curious would be interesting. Surely Matt would blab that he saw her here with Klaus and she’d have to do damage control. She wasn’t going to talk about anything until she knew herself what was going on
Klaus laughed, once again noticing how similar Caroline could be to Rebekah. “That’s what my sister did. Man tried to boss her around and they ended up regretting it greatly. I’m sure it would be interesting to watch you back then as a vampire. Men thinking they had power over you and ending up being absolutely humiliated.” He smiled, it was interesting that no matter how much he liked controlling everything and bossing people around, the people he ended up liking the most were exactly those he couldn’t boss. Elijah and Rebekah did do a lot of what he said, but he didn’t think he bossed them around, they did what he said because they either agreed or did it anyway because they loved him. Rebekah had a mind of her own and she had defied him more than once, and so did Elijah.
"I know they do. I’m not arguing about that." He admitted simply. It was something that was pointless to fight about. Klaus had done a lot to earn all the hate towards him and he didn’t bother about that because they wouldn’t be capable of killing him. He just didn’t want Caroline taking part of any of their plans to mess up with him. And she had promised she wouldn’t, so he only had to trust her this time.
Klaus chuckled and shook his head slowly. “Just regular clothes. Nothing fancy. I’ve given you diamonds, I’ve given you an expensive dress and took you to an elegant ball. This time I’ll show you I can be simple too.” He grinned at her and downed his glass. Then he pointed to the pool table with the stick in his hand. “Do you want another game? I’ll go easy on you this time.” Klaus suggested with a smug smile on his lips.

“I’m sure you would. My exes definitely didn’t like it. I got told to stop it because it wasn’t cute” Caroline rolled her eyes a bit. Matt got pissed and her and Tyler was mad his guaranteed booty call was ran off. She coudn’t help that she got jealous. She had insecurities like all girls her age. “that is just disgusting. i understand cousins, if you didn’t know them growing up, but those people who sleep with their siblings or family they see alot that’s just gross” She curled her lip and shuddered a bit as the disgusting thought.
“So my loyalty is a turn off? Interesting” She teased him and thought about it. She would be loyal to her friends for as long as they were alive. That wasn’t something she would just change because she didn’t want to be a traitor like others could be. A katherine just hopping from side to side. That wasn’t her. “You don’t have proof that I like it” She retorted and bit back a smile. Why was she able to flirt with him so easily right now? Was she more drunk than she thought? Or was he actually winning her over?
She watched him closely as he spoke to her and her eyes moved to his lips as he bit on it and she quickly looked away when he looked away before he stepped closer and then spoke to her again. “Fine” She said trying to be stubborn.”I will go on a date with you” She said keeping eye contact with him to not back down from his presence. She wouldn’t act scared of him because she had no reason to be right now. she stood her ground and licked her lips trying not to focus on his stupid Original hotness. Why were they all good looking? It just wasn’t fair.
"That would be because your exes are very different from me." Klaus pointed out. People mostly didn’t like jealousy, but he was a very possessive guy himself, so he couldn’t not condone it. "Yeah, well, I saw it happening a lot. Life was a lot better for guys back then, I think girls are much happier these years than they were in the past." He commented. He had never seen life be hard on his sister, but she was a vampire, so rules didn’t quite apply. Klaus had see the whole women’s right thing develop though, so he had some good insight on what had happened.
"I didn’t say that. Your loyalty is certainly a good thing about you. I like loyal people, I don’t like when people disappoint me. It’s not your loyalty that is bad, just the fact that it’s aimed towards those wanting me dead." He explained, he didn’t want her thinking that he was loyalty as a bad thing, especially since it was one of the characteristics in people he enjoyed the most. "No, I don’t. I’m just saying you do." He teased back, definitely enjoying that Caroline was putting less walls between them.
After basically winning the game, he wanted to have her agreeing on going to a date with him. When she said fine, a smile immediately widened in his lips. He didn’t want to act smug and make her regret her decision, so he just smirked slightly and pulled away from her, going back to the table and shooting the black ball inside one of the holes. “There. I won my bet, you can tell your friends.” He stated simply and then went to grab the bottle and poured both their glasses, handing hers to her before taking a sip from his. “The day after tomorrow, 7pm, I’ll pick you up at your house. Are we set?” He asked, not able to tear the grin off his face.

“Well who knows. but now I think you’re probably thinking of sex so I just helped you have an excuse to be an average male thinking with his penis” Caroline said and clicked her tongue. “I think I’ve told you alot. How I was when a human, and then that other stuff. I get jealous, I guess its the territorial side of me, but I will compel girls to leave my boyfriend alone because I can’t help myself. Like I said I’m a teen girl, we can’t help our hormones” She shrugged. “That’s crazy. I would be married off to some random weirdo probably right? Like a guy who was old enough to be my father but he wanted to have a pretty little wife to do chores around the house and popout babies” She curled up her lip at the thought of having to go through that. “I can’t see many young people getting married by choice”
“You are so sure of yourself” She said looking amused like she had when he offered to bring her to places the night of the ball. She shook her head and fought her smile. “Well I’m definitely not easy. Its good you aren’t turned off by having to work at it. ” She said and laughed at him winking. “I don’t know why I encourage this madness” She shook her head again letting her blonde hair bounce with the motion before putting her hair behind her ear and looking at him.
Caroline let her head fall a bit and laughed. “I swear..I should just keep my ideas to myself or you like to take them and use them” She said mock glaring at him and then licking her bottom lip. After he moved to the table she stood there watching him and he got all of them with ease. She should have known really. She kinda did already know but she had chosen to ignore it. She looked at him when he walked up to her and tilted her head looking at him. “I’m not going to answer that” She smiled. “If you go hit that ball into the hole, and you make it, then I can use the excuse that it was a fair game that I lost when my friends harass me wondering why I went anywhere with you” She said teasing. “And I wouldn’t be fully lying. I don’t want to lie to them but I can’t fully tell them the truth either. But I knew I’d lose, and I still let you make that a wager. What do you think that means?”
Klaus laughed as she accused him of thinking with his penis. After a thousand years he would be damned if he still let sexual urges control his mind. Of course, sometimes they had a great influence, but it didn’t mean he couldn’t still properly think with his head. “I really would love to see that fierce jealous side of you.” He pointed out chuckling. He was chasing her right now and the idea of having her go all crazy being jealous of some girl talking to him amused him greatly. “You could even be married to your own uncle. Incest wasn’t that much of a crime back then either.” He commented playfully as he had said previously that pedophilia wasn’t a crime in the past.
Klaus smirked as she said he was very sure of himself. Well, he had reasons to be it, after all he pretty much got anything he wanted. “Nothing about you turns me off. Well… no, actually there’s one thing: your loyalty to those who want to destroy me. But we can work around it.” It was definitely something that he didn’t quite like it and something he knew he couldn’t change. He could make her trust him, though, and she had already promised she wouldn’t use him again, so the problem was pretty much solved. “You encourage this madness because you like it.” He said smiling at her.
After she failed to get any ball in with her first hit, Klaus jumped in and got all the balls in without missing one. He could let the last ball in and he would win his date with Caroline, but he didn’t want to just win it, he wanted her to want it. “I know what that means, but I still want you to say yes.” He smirked at her and spun the stick in his hand. “I don’t care what you say to your friends. You can even tell them I compelled you if that’s what you wish. After you say yes I can get the ball inside that pocket and I’d still have won the bet, so you still won’t be lying to your friend… fully.” Klaus bit down on his lip, averting his eyes for a second before getting a step closer to her and focusing on her again. “But I want you to go on a date with me not because I won a bet but simply because I asked you and you agreed to it.”

“Well remember I’m still trying to see what I can say to make you run off” Caroline said with a shrug. “Getting all the bad stuff out of the way. If you still want to stick around after hearing the bad stuff then you’re dedicated” She explained and messed with her hair. “So if I’m ever difficult with that stuff its not because I haven’t done it before its because I’m not easy” She chuckled. “Guys nowadays, if you don’t give in you’re a tease, a lesbian or a virgin” She frowned. “You can’t just not be interested or be trying to make someone work to get that..its always the most negative choice they can come up with”
“Oh by why do you think your sweet talk would make me swoon when clearly your model looks and accent have yet to do so?” She teased with a smirk. She had been drinking so she was a bit more lacking a filter right now. It would look like she was flirting but she wasnt…much. It was natural for her. “Now that would just be too easy wouldn’t it? What fun would that be?” She asked when he brought up compelling someone. “You are getting points for wanting me despite my bad attributes and beyond my blonde hair” She pointed out. “and calling me smart and tough as an original is a good compliment as well. I may be charmed a little” She shrugged.
“I didn’t say that” She said quickly. “Waiting for you to lose then telling you what you have to do” She hadn’t thought of that yet but it made for a good argument. She moved over to get ready to break and raised her brow. “Cocky again. And don’t check me out while I’m bent over either” She said leaning over and lining up taking the shot. she frowned when nothing went in and put her hand on her hip. “If this is any sign of what I’m going to have to deal with I’m going to have to say I don’t approve of it”
"Was I supposed to see the fact that you are not the most virtuous as a bad thing?" He cocked his eyebrow at her and smirked at her. "Be my guest, though. Tell me all the bad things about you that you can remember. I hardly believe any of them is going to make me lose interest on you." Klaus really did not believe that she could have something so bad about her that he would change his mind. He had all the worse things about himself, so he was never going to consider something bad enough. "That’s because you deal with hormonal teenagers. Back when I was human, there was a pretty big chance you were already married before you got to your teens." Klaus chuckled, it was something very weird to think about when you get to the XXI century.
He grinned while nodding to himself, his eyes averting from her for while before they went back to meet with hers. “No, it’s the mix of all them, adding to the gifts and the knowledge and experience of a thousand years that are going to eventually fall for me.” He stated confidently, didn’t matter how much fight she gave him, he was pretty sure that eventually he would get her to fall for him. “Definitely too easy and I don’t want you being easy.” Klaus laughed and tilted his head slightly looking at her. “So… I’m getting points. It’s definitely good to hear you admitting that.” He winked at her and grinned.
"So I don’t have a chance to back off the bet if I am afraid of losing? Not fair." He joked, but really, he couldn’t care less, especially because he knew he was going to win that pretty easily. He played like a pro, actually, if he played against pool champions he would probably win. "Now that you pointed that out, I won’t be able to help myself not to look. I’m not the most self-controlling vampire you’ve met." He teased playfully, as his eyes definitely checked her out while she was bent over the table. "Oh, I’m sorry to tell you, but you’ll definitely have to deal with it." He licked his lips and took another sip from his drink before he walked to the table. Caroline had made it easier for him opening the game, pool was very easy to play when you have both the experience and the heightened senses of a vampire. "Watch me winning my date." He grinned and bent over the table to shoot the first ball into the hole. With an impressive accuracy, he got every ball in a hole in minutes without ever missing one. When only the black ball was left, he stopped and walked to her. "Do you wanna go out with me?" He asked, he’d rather have her agree on going on a date with him than winning it on a bet.

“That’s just sad” Caroline said and then shook her head. “So I would be a disgrace and probably would have a kid” She said. “I’m not the most virtuous, I’ll admit that. ” She said and then raised her brow at him as he tried to backtrack and saw there was no claim. He would push to get what he wanted but he wouldn’t assume that he won. That was the good part. She didn’t need someone telling her what she was and who she would end up with like it wasn’t her own decision. She was a big girl. She got dressed on her, could make her own decisions and fall fo whoever she fell for without having to worry about what others thought becaue it was her choice.
“You’re sweettalking me now” She pointed at him. “You may just prefer blondes right now” She chuckled. “My friends and I are like a pick and choose. If you like Brunettes you go for Elena, if you like blondes then you kinda float over my direction for awhile. And if you like the exotic dark skinned type then you go for bonnie. But alot of guys think Blondes are for fun not for relationships. So I get hit on but no so much snatched up in a relationship” She shrugged and licked her lips.
“a date..” She tilted her head looking at him. If she agreed and lost then it was just a bet, she wasn’t just choosing to go on a date with him technically because technically he was winning it. “Alright, we’ll go with that” She said and pressed her lips together. “Who goes first? I mean who breaks first” She said motioning towards the table. She didn’t know what a date for him would be like. Would it be something like how their time at the ball had been?
Klaus had to laugh when she said she wasn’t the most virtuous. But he kind of doubted it, he had seen what it looked like not to be virtuous in the XXI century and Caroline definitely wasn’t skanky. She was actually pretty classy for a girl of her time. “You know, I find it very amusing that you chose to tell me something like that. But, you know, mentalities change with time, I’m pretty sure if you have been alive back there you would have been a respectful lady. Just like you are in the present. Only times have changed and right now, not having sex before wedding is just particular.” He shrugged, as that type of things never did matter for him. He believed that being a vampire tear him apart from those ridiculous society beliefs. Vampires did as they pleased, they had no one telling them what was right or wrong.
"I’m sweet talking indeed, but I’m also just being honest. I need the sweet talk if I want you to fall in my arms." Klaus joked and then chuckled as she described his friends as the different types of women they represented. "I truly feel like I’m seeing a catalogue. Curiously, though, only one of them seems interesting for me and it has nothing to do with the blonde hair, because if I fancied you only for your looks then I would just compel you and make you mine." He stated seriously. When he liked a girl for her looks, that’s what he did, he compelled her, he fed on her, he had fun with her, nothing more. It was easier. But if he compelled Caroline, she would lose everything he liked about her. "That’s because a lot are also stupid enough to believe every blonde is dumb. But I know two blonde girls that are smarter and tougher than almost every other girl I met during my thousand years." He was talking about her and Rebekah and her, obviously, and he expected her to understand that much.
Klaus grinned widely as she agreed on the terms of the bet and then the grin turned into a smirk. “So, you do believe you’re going to lose since you’re not even stating what I have to do if I lose.” He pointed out as he finished chalking his stick and then pushed away from the table and walked over to the bottle so he would pour himself yet another glass. “You can break it, sweetheart. I want you to hit the ball at least once before I win the whole game.” He smiled and took a sip from the drink.

“You pervert” Caroline chuckled unable to help herself. “You were born in a more free time. Although I guess having random babies back then not in wedlock probably was frowned at right? Nowadays people pop out kids like its a trend. 16? Oh well you get your own tv show when you get knocked up” She rolled her eyes and then licked her lips. “you have it all figured out do you?” She asked raising her brow. “so you already have decided that you’re going to have me one way or the other. Is this some hybrid claim? Does it come with a marking tattoo?” She joked.
“I don’t know if I should be offended or not that I couldn’t have two vampires fall for me like that” She said shrugging. “When he first came, I wanted stefan. But he wanted Elena. And I got Damon instead. I probably should have aimed for neither one” She chuckled. She had been so naive back then. she was happy that she at least grew from those experiences or she would be dead right now. She was stronger and more mature and was proud of herself for doing that much. “I do make points sometimes” She said and then caught his eyes. She licked her lips and just let him continue talking because what do you say to that? Someone willing to be tortured to save you. Do you say thank you? She wasn’t good at knowing what to say obviously.
“So I’m a distraction for you when cars drive by” She smiled. “Nice to know” She said and got to the table. When he finally made his way over she finished her glass putting it down. “Ah yes. You’re sneaky like that” She pointed out. “If you get something in return? Should we lay out your terms already?” She asked watching him prepare the table. She grabbed a pool stick and chalked the end of it before just looking at him. “So tell me Klaus, what is it that you want if you let me win? Because I don’t need you to go easy on me. We could play this fair and square and let me lose with pride”
Klaus chuckled at the irony in her words as she mentioned that girls pregnant at 16 would get a TV show. He had heard about it already, not that he ever seen it, it’s not like Klaus was the type to sit in a couch and watch MTV in the afternoon. But it was sort of shocking how low a society could get. He had lived a long time and while he reckoned a lot of things got better, people’s mentality had just mostly gotten weird. “Well, yes, before, girls that lost their virginity before the wedding also lost all her value to a honourable wedding. But I don’t even know exactly which before you’re talking about. I also lived in a time when condoms haven’t been invented, so kids popped out a lot more back then.” Klaus laughed. He hurried to shake his head when she suggested she was some sort of hybrid claim. “It’s nothing like that. I didn’t decide anything, the decision is all on you. I’m not going to stop until that decision suits what I want, but that’s different. And no tattoo, I promise.” He added with a little smirk.
"I didn’t mean it like that. I’m just saying that I don’t know if it would happen or not. They are sort of blind if both of them could have had you and fell for Elena instead." He pointed out as if it was pretty obvious. Well, it was for him. Comparing Caroline with Elena was some sort of joke, because he just saw so much more enchantment in the blonde.
Klaus laughed at her little remark. “You’re a distraction for me anytime.” He confessed with a playful grin. He finished preparing the table and then grabbed a stick and the chalk, leaning against the table. “Fine. Let’s lay out our terms. I don’t let you win, if you prefer to lose with pride. But in that case, if I win you let me take you out on a date. If I lose it’s up to you. But I won’t, so it’s useless.” Klaus smiled confidently, if she agreed on this then this night and the lie about Kol would have definitely be worth it, because he would be taking Caroline for a date and he sure knew how to charm a lady with a perfect date.
